Welcome to Scandocs. By accessing or using our website, tools, and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you do not have permission to access the Service.
1. Use of the Service
Scandocs provides free, browser-based document scanning and PDF utilities. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Service by any third party.
- You must not use the Service in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the website or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the Service.
- You must not use our tools to forge, alter, or falsify legal documents, identifications, or financial records for fraudulent purposes.
- You are solely responsible for the documents you process using our local tools.
2. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding documents processed by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Scandocs and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
3. Local Processing Acknowledgment
You acknowledge that Scandocs operates entirely within your local web browser. We do not store, host, or back up any of the documents or images you process. Consequently, we cannot recover lost files, and you are entirely responsible for saving and backing up your generated PDFs or images.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. SCANDOCS MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE OPERATION OF THEIR SERVICES, OR THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, OR MATERIALS INCLUDED THEREIN.
YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
5. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL SCANDOCS, NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
